Electrogenic announced the launch of their new kit created to convert working Land Rover Defenders to fully-electric power. Over the past year and a half, the kit’s creation and testing were a priority to satisfy the agricultural sector’s and landowners’ needs.
The Electrogenic design help, so the installation, correctly done by a certified mechanic, does not require maintenance. The electric motor bolts to an existing clutch bell on the Defender, so the vehicle retains all of its gears.

It has 120 hp and 235 Nm of torque, both of which can be comparable to the original diesel engine. It also has 52kWh of batteries mounted under the hood, providing more than 100 miles of range on the highway. Miles increase if driving off-road or on a farm.
The kit’s equipment includes 7.5kW AC overnight charging via a Type 2 connector, making fast charging an optional extra.
Thanks to the electrogenic conversions, it’s possible to maintain an original Defender’s versatility and four-wheel drive. At the same time, it is observed that the capacity of the entire terrain improves by installing the electric motor. Another feature benefited by the electric motor is towing capability, as well as two-stage regenerative braking for ultra-controlled, brake-free off-road descents.
The handling becomes accessible by delivering linear power, being easy to drive even in demanding off-road scenarios.
