Gibson Energy appoints Juliana Lam as member of Board of Directors

Gibson Energy, a Canadian-based liquids infrastructure company, announced this Monday it has appointed Juliana Lam to its Board of Directors, effective on September 10, 2021. The company’s main business consists of storage, optimization, processing, and gathering of liquids and refined products.

The company has its headquarters in Calgary, Alberta. Its operations are focused around its core terminal assets located at Hardisty and Edmonton, Alberta, and include the Moose Jaw Facility and an infrastructure position in the U.S.

The appointment of Ms. Juliana Lamb will propel the company to a new level of financial management and international business, as Ms. Lam will bring the company with robust and extensive experience in various fields.

James Estey, Chairman of Gibson, said. “We are very pleased to have Juliana join Gibson’s Board of Directors. The Board remains committed to ensuring it has access to the right skillsets to continue to move the Company forward.”

He also remarked. “The addition of Juliana will provide extensive executive-level financial management and international business experience, especially in the areas of business oversight, governance, financial reporting, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, transformational initiatives, change management and enterprise risk management.”

Ms. Juliana Lam will also serve in the Audit Committee of Gibson Energy

Ms. Lam has had vast experience in a variety of industries. She has served as Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario; Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Uranium One Inc.; Senior Vice-President, Finance at Kinross Gold Corporation and Chief Financial Officer at Nexans Canada Inc.

Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors at each of Major Drilling Group International Inc., and she also serves on the Audit and Environment, Health & Safety Committees, and Toronto Hydro Corporation, including serving on the Audit Committee.

On the other hand, as part of her appointment in Gibson Energy, she will also serve in the company’s Audit Committee.

Finally, Ms. Juliana Lam holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto; an MBA from the Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario. She is also a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA); and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
