Community Energy appoints storage expert Judy McElroy as new board member

Community Energy, renewable energy company pioneer, announced this Tuesday a new appointment to its Board of Directors. The appointee was energy storage expert Judy McElroy, current CEO of Fractal Energy Storage Consultants.

Firstly, Community Energy will leverage from McElroy’s decades of experience in the energy storage field; precisely while the company tries to integrate its market and implement its solutions at scale.

Secondly, the appointment happens just months after Community Energy named Brent Beerly as its new Chief Executive Officer. Precisely to accelerate the company sustainability and climate goals. Beerly became Community Energy’s new CEO in mid-January, 2021.

Thirdly, back in late-March, the company completed the construction of a 10 MWdc portfolio made up of five community solar gardens in southern Colorado. Located in rural areas of the state, the five solar projects provide clean energy to a wide range of subscribers.

Moreover, the appointment of Judy McElroy would help the company to expand and integrate all of these new projects for the company. New CEO Brent Beerly, said about the matter. “It is with great pleasure that I welcome Judy McElroy to our Board.”

Judy McElroy to push Community Energy into its integration and sustainability goals

He also added. “She is a national leader in the US energy storage market; offering deep insight to our Board and Leadership team. As we enter our next phase of growth, Judy’s experience will also help us to be smarter about how we integrate storage with our solar projects.”

Furthermore, he concluded. “Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a 24/7 carbon-free grid. In addition, having recently closed financing on our third and largest solar + storage project; at 173 MW of solar and also 120 MWh of storage, we look forward to working with Judy to pioneer the integration of clean energy at scale.”

In addition, as said above, Judy currently serves as CEO of Fractal Energy Storage Consultants; she has over a decade of experience in the energy storage industry with a specialty in markets; also, policy, technology, and economics.

On the other hand, about her appointment, she commented. “I am honored to serve on the Community Energy Board of Directors. It is a privilege to contribute to a vision I believe in so strongly; renewable energy and energy storage. They will be inseparable moving forward.”
