Clean energy consulting firm NV5 acquires Sage Renewables

Clean energy consulting firm, NV5 Global; provider of compliance, technology, engineering, and environmental consulting solutions; announced this Tuesday that it has acquired Sage Renewable Energy Consulting, Inc.; a leader company in comprehensive sustainable energy planning and project management services.

Firstly, Sage is a renowned company headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area; it provides energy planning and project management services for businesses; also, public agencies, and schools across the nation.

Secondly, Sage has partnered with industry-leading companies in the realms of solar arrays, battery storage, energy efficiency; also, electric vehicle fleet planning, and electric vehicle charging; Sage itself is also a strategic partner throughout the planning, development, construction; and also, lifetime stages of energy systems and microgrids.

Thirdly, the acquisition will therefore expand NV5’s growing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) service portfolio. Acquisition involves a combination of cash and stock and will be immediately accretive to NV5’s earnings.

Moreover, Sage has successfully managed over $2 billion in clean energy projects; and has also, negotiated dozens of successful power purchase agreements for clients in the public and private sectors.

Consequently, being acquired by NV5 will enable Sage to accelerate the expansion of its practice; “it will also enable us to offer NV5’s clients expertise; not only in developing new clean energy systems, electric vehicle fleets and infrastructure; but also, asset management,” said Tom Williard, Principal at Sage.

About the relevance of the acquisition for NV5, Ben Heraud, COO of Energy Efficiency and Decarbonization at NV5, said. “Clean energy is a sector with high market growth potential; as evidenced by Sage’s continued organic growth; we are excited to add Sage’s team and capabilities to our Energy Efficiency and Decarbonization group.”

Finally, Dickerson Wright, CEO of NV5, commented. “Sage’s expertise in the renewables, battery storage, microgrid, and electric vehicle planning space enhances our ESG capabilities and presents opportunities for cross-selling with our existing ESG services.”
