The solar and battery storage portfolio of leading integrated energy company CS Energy, has expanded into the Southeast of the United States. The company announced this Wednesday that its total base in the region is currently 29 megawatts of solar power; and 40 megawatt hours of energy storage.

Firstly, the company will add into the region more output in the short term; in fact, it announced that, with three new projects under construction in Florida, its national output base will reach over 200 MWh.

Secondly, the first two projects locate at Hamilton and Alachua Counties; they are standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS); of 5.5 MWh and 11.5 MWh in capacity. The projects are part of a technology pilot program; and will be used to address growing peak demand and reduce congestion on the distribution grid.

Thirdly, the third project is a 1 MW solar carport coupled with 23 MWh of energy storage; it will provide resiliency and continuity of power, especially when the community school acts as a shelter during natural disasters; all while providing savings on the school’s electric bill year-round.

Solar and battery storage portfolio of CS Energy to leverage from digital solution

Moreover, the three projects will use Doosan GridTech’s digital energy management solution (EMS). To optimize the solar generation and the battery storage output; maximizing financial returns for the utility; according to the words of CS Energy executive VP, Scott Bianchi.

In addition, Eric Millard, Chief Commercial Officer of CS Energy, said about the new projects. “We are excited to add to our solar and energy storage project portfolio in the southeast region. Utilities, project owners, and also, developers can rely on our track record; reliability, and also expertise are our strongest points, to efficiently and cost-effectively complete their projects.”

Moreover, Troy Nergaard, CEO of Doosan GridTech, said about the partnership with CS Energy. “With over 1 GW of distributed energy projects nationally and also, extensive energy storage experience, CS Energy is one of the market leaders in solar and battery storage deployments.”

Finally, he also remarked. “They have also been proven to be a trusted and reliable partner; one that has always gone the extra mile to ensure the highest return on investment for its customers.”
