Cognizant, leader in technology and digital services, announced this Monday it will expand its relationship with global engineering company Aker Solutions; the extended relationship will help Aker Solutions to modernize and simplify its entire IT infrastructure.
Firstly, the agreement will also include Aker Solutions’ business technology network and application maintenance and development. Such improvements will allow Aker to better help companies unlock energy from sources such as oil, gas and offshore wind.
Secondly, the extended relationship will also enhance Aker Solutions’ productivity and business scalability; while decreasing its IT operating costs. Aker Solutions will leverage from Cognizant’s DevOps application; which will allow it to provide agile support and reduced delivery times for new projects; such as oil field developments or wind turbines.
Thirdly, according to the statement, the new accord is for five years; during that time, Cognizant will provide digital solutions and services, including the design; development and deployment of mobile applications for Aker. It will also provide AI, data analytics and IoT.
Moreover, with those tools, Aker Solutions’ clients will improve in the productive maintenance of their supported assets; and also increase their employee productivity on site, through the use of mobile applications.

Cognizant and Aker Solutions partners in emerging business challenges
In addition, Cognizant will also support the transformation and manage Aker Solutions’ SAP enterprise system; this would streamline Akers’ business processes and improve operational efficiency, user experience and employee engagement.
Furthermore, the agreements is not the first one between Cognizant and Akers Solutions; in fact, the agreement builds on Cognizant’s long-standing relationship with Aker Solutions. Since 2016, Cognizant has been the exclusive provider of digital systems, technology and operations services for Aker.
